Over the past few years we have featured many Yom tov themed challah ideas.

Everyone is of course familiar with our

Apple Challah Rolls which went viral!

Unbeknownst to me, I recently found out that this was actually an old minhag in certain communities (including mine!).

Making a sweet crumb topping for rosh hashana is a nice change from the usual savory taste.

You will need:

  1. Arrange challah dough balls in a round pan. 
  2. Add food coloring to all or just some of the crumbs.
  3. Brush challah with egg.
  4. Sprinkle the crumbs on top.
  5. Bake
