Back to School Edible Crafts
Here are some fun and easy back to school edible crafts.
Edible Math Craft
Pull out some cheese, rice cakes and cookie cutters and have your children practice their math skills as they enjoy a light lunch or snack.
I promise you this will be a fun activity and a “fraction” of the cost of a math tutor!
On another note, my mother always told us that when she was growing up and she wanted to bake, my grandmother never let them just follow the regular recipe. She always had to double, triple or halve the recipe. This was one of the many ways my grandmother made a life experience into a learning experience!
You will need:
- rice cakes
- cheese
- alphabet cookie cutters
- round cookie cutter
- knives
Directions:
- Cut out cheese using round cookie cutters and then cut into wedges. Arrange on rice cakes.
Alternately, cut cheese into alphabet shapes.
Hugs and Kisses
I always loved reading my children the book about the mother that put a kiss in her child’s pocket every day for when the child felt he / she needed a little love. Being in school eight hours a day is a looong time!
Here’s a cute, easy and inexpensive way to add some love into your child’s day.
Attach stickers to sandwich and snack bags, or directly onto fruit.
Insert sandwiches into funny face ziplock bags, and send to school with a smile!
