Mini Ball Game

small ball game

Here is an adorable DIY game to make with your children or students in honor of Chodesh Adar.

I love the idea of teaching children the step-by-step process of how to build and design a toy.

A water bottle is recycled to catch the candy as it passes through the hole. This is a fun process from start to finish.

Directions:

  1. Print free download on sticker paper. (The link can be emailed to your local printer as well.)
  2. Using a razor or a pair of scissors, cut off the top part of the water bottle. Dry and set it aside.
  3. Using a hole puncher, make a hole in one spot of the background. Enlarge the hole a little by carefully punching out a slightly larger area for the balls to fit through.
  4. Place the background in the box. Do not stick it down yet!
  5. Take a pen and mark off the spot of the hole on the box.
  6. Use the razor blade to cut out the area of the hole. It’s ok if it is slightly larger than the hole in the background. Check that the balls can easily get through the background and the box.
  7. Carefully remove the back of one corner of the background and cut it off. Continue doing this to all four corners so that the corners are all sticky.(Alternatively, you can use regular paper and glue down the corners. I like the sticker because it is smoother and sturdier. )Apply to box, matching up the holes.
  8. Using a glue gun, glue the top part of a water bottle to the bottom of the box.
  9. Add the candy
  10. Close the box, secure it with tape and play.
