Watermelon Ice Pops

Watermelon Vase

Watermelon Vase

You will need:

  • medium sized round watermelon
  • Large knife
  •  5 -6 bunches dark pink carnations
  • Large spoon and bowl

 

  1. Choose a spot a few inches down from the top of the watermelon and cut off the top. Try to cut a fairly consistent line all the way around. Use the knife to run a cut along the inside of the watermelon just to help loosen up the fruit.
  2. Use your spoon to scoop out the watermelon. Place watermelon in prepared bowl.
  3. Create a tight bouquet of flowers.
  4. Cut off the bottom of the stems so the buds sit right on top of the watermelon vase.

You don’t need much to create this sweet sea treat.

Enjoy this cute little activity before eating this healthy snack.

You will need:

  • A sharp knife
  • Watermelon
  • Edible candy eyes

Directions:

  1. Slice the watermelon in half.
  2. Cut off a 1” slice from one of the sides.
  3. Place the slice on your work surface.
  4. Make 1” cuts across the watermelon slice.
  5. Place the slices on the platter leaving 1/2” space between each piece.
  6. Turn the last 2 pieces in the opposite direction to create the tail.
  7. Place candy eye on the fish before serving.

Keeping with our watermelon theme. Here’s a refreshing way to freeze your favorite sorbet recipe.


You will need:

Directions:

  1. Line up glass cups on a heavy cookie sheet.
  2. Place a paper cone in each glass.
  3. Fill the cone approximately 2/3 with red sorbet
  4. Place Popsicle stick in the center and freeze till firm. If your sorbet is too loose, wait to add the popsicle stick in till partially frozen .
  5. Pour kiwi mixture over red sorbet, about 1/4-1/2”.
  6. Freeze till firm.
  7. Tear the paper off the ice pops.
